While Utah has one of the most robust voting systems in the nation, our state has been experimenting with alternatives to the norm. The Utah legislature enacted the Municipal Alternative Voting Methods Pilot Project in 2018 allowing instant runoff voting (also known as “ranked choice voting”) to be used in limited instances.
Legislators, who have been toying with ending the pilot program, are also hearing about Approval Voting, another alternative method which has some public backing. Join us to hear about these and other options, as well as what county clerks think about the pros and cons.
Join us on Monday, June 17, 6 p.m., in a webinar to hear from our panel on the status of alternative voting in Utah.
